After you have contacted them, you should receive a return call or email within 48 hours of your request (excluding weekends or public holidays).
Requesting your records can bring up a range of emotions. Learn where you can find support to help you before, during, and after you have received your records.
When you make your request, they will ask you for proof of your identity (as required under the Privacy Act). For example, a copy of your passport, birth certificate, or driver licence.
