Youthlink Trust closed down following full and final settlement of claims related to the Abuse in Care inquiry. Any remaining records not needed as part of the settlements were destroyed. Reconnect, which took over their programmes, do not hold any Youthlink Trust records.
Special needs school in Tuakau, South Auckland for college-age young people with "a range of social, learning and behavioural problems which cannot be catered for in a mainstream school. Many of these children are in the care of Child, Youth and Family."According to an ERO report in 2010, the school was for mainly secondary school-age students "who are under the care and protection of Child Youth and Family Services, and in the day-to-day care of the Youthlink Family Trust or the Youth Horizons Trust." Some of the students were on Youth Justice programmes.Capacity: Aug 2009 there were 69 students; in 2010 there were 35 enrolled pupils.In 2009 there were six sites but in 2010 there were three sites. Operational period: 1999-2011 (27 Jan 2011 ).On closure, pupils were transferred to a private provider and then to a new school on the site of the former Waimokoia School.
