Lower Hutt Boys Home (also called Anglican Boys Home Lower Hutt) Boys' Home administered and operated by the Anglican Boys' Homes Society under the auspices of the Church of the Province of New Zealand, Wellington Diocese. Boys residing at St Mary's Home were transferred to the Anglican Boys' Home at age seven. First opened on 5 May 1912 in Camp Road, Lower Hutt, and was known as the Boys' Rescue Home. The home was reopened on a new site on High Street on 11 June 1921. The buildings were renovated and re-opened on 4 Dec 1937. Site is now St Oran's College. Was still operating in 1950 (ref.
