Records are held at the Hocken Library. Records include a register of entry from 1919-1934; minutes of the Committee, Childcare Commmittee 1917-1930 (Hocken ref AG-349-161) and correspondence regarding children from 1946-1967 (Hocken ref AG-349-163 and 164). According to the Hocken Library research guide, some records from these Homes are held at the Hocken Archives, University of Otago. However, the guide says there are no known survivng records which identify the residents of St Mary's Girls (only administrative records). The guide says that some of the records about the Memorial Home held by the Hocken Archives include, "a register of entry for 1919-1934 (PC-0266). The minutes of the Anglican Orphanage Committee (from 1969 known as the Child Care Committee) include references to the cases of specific children.
