Little Acre Children’s Home was established in 1949 on Aldwins Road as a privately run foster home for children, particularly disabled children.
In 1958 it relocated to 226 Lincoln Road. Between 1958 and 1979 the home was run by Louise Miles. On 24 March 1973 it relocated to Huntsbury Avenue, Cashmere, on the site of the former Huntsbury Childrens Home.
In the late 1960’s the Presbyterian Social Service Association sponsored children placed at Little Acre Childen’s Home by their parents, where the parents could not afford the fees for their care.
When Little Acre Children’s Home relocated to the former Huntsbury House in 1973, Presbyterian Support then had full oversight of the home until it’s closure in February 1979.
