Records for St Andrew's Home are not held by the Diocese of Nelson as they had their own independent Trust Board. Most of the limited records that the Diocese of Nelson holds is as a result of the Diocesan Manager's role as a secretary to the Trust. Those records include minutes and registers as well as records that were transferred when St Andrew's Home closed. The Diocese of Nelson does not hold comprehensive care records. The St Andrews Orphanage closed in the late 1960’s; after that the Trust built a home in Richmond and the care records associated with that home were the responsibility of the Open Home Foundation, which rented the property as a family home.

It's possible that another name for this Home was 'St Andrew's Home for Girls' as there is a reference to an Anglican institution by this name in Whanaketia, the Abuse in Care Inquiry's Final Report in Part 4, para 288 (page 89). However, this institution was recorded as being mixed gender and no other uses of this name have been found anywhere in online research.
