From Sisters of Compassion Facebook page post: "On 14 December 1952 the Sisters of Compassion opened a new rest home to accommodate disabled women and elderly people from the South Canterbury area. ... The St Vianney's Home of Compassion was handed over to the Vianney Trust in November 2001 and after few years, was closed in June 2003."
Information provided by the Catholic Church indicates that this children/young people stayed at this Home at least at some point, though it's unclear whether this was common.
