Anglican Trust for Women and Children (ATWC) does not hold any records prior to 2000. The records held in the archives can have substantial gaps and often limited information. In most cases, there are no case records (e.g. from children's homes, St Mary's home, Hospital or adoption records) but usually records from an admission book, baptism or similar. The records are usually handwritten and often part of a register which requires information about others to be redacted. Any adoption records that were held by ATWC were transferred to the Adoption Information Services Unit in the mid-1990s (now under Oranga Tamariki).
