While you are in prison, the only way the record holder can give you your records is by post. You can have the records posted to you in prison, or to someone you trust at their own address. If a lawyer sent the records request for you, the records will be sent to your lawyer.
When your records arrive at the prison, they will be treated like any mail that is sent to people in prison. It will be read or searched by Corrections before it is passed on to you.
The record holder may redact (remove or hide) information from your records if it is required by the Privacy Act. Learn more about redactions
