Archives NZ holds some records about Auckland Receiving Home, Market Road Receiving Home, and Cornwall Park Reception Centre, including an open access digitised plan showing the buildings of the Market Road Receiving Home from 1971. Oranga Tamariki holds some records Cornwall Park Reception Centre from 1980-2002 and for Auckland Receiving Home from 2006 [note: unclear why these dates are outside the dates of operation for the Homes]. Oranga Tamariki may also hold records about young people who stayed at this institution and whom DSW was involved with. Capacity as at circa 1957, 19 beds; as at circa 1970, 20 beds. There was a Receiving Home or Reception Centre in Epsom from 1966-1983. Records from Oranga Tamariki and Archives NZ suggest that the institution was known as Auckland Receiving Home first until c.1972, then known as Market Road Receiving Home. The MSD Historic Claims report suggests that it was known as Cornwall Park from 1982 until its closure. Records from Oranga Tamariki indicate that, after closing in 1983, the Home became Cornwall Park Community Care Unit (note haven't been able to find any further information about what this unit was, appears that it was not a Children's Home - should have been taken over by another organisation). Controllling organisation: Government Child Welfare Division; State control
